The club ride (Freeze Your Butt Off 200)

BFR on 30 Jan 2010 rode to Tyler TX. Checked out the Victory Bikes @ http://broadwaypowersports.com/ Got some lunch @ http://www.coyotesamsbarandgrille.com/
That was one cold ride to Tyler. So much for weather reports. Weather report said this morning that it would be cold to start. 29 I think it said. Then warm up to 40 something. I don't think it got above freezing. We rode thru snow both ways.

Woody's Home Christmas 2009

BFR made a trip to Woody's Home for Vets. We made and served them their Holiday meal. BFR wants all vets to know that we appreciate what they have sacrificed for our country and they are not forgotten.

Thanks! From Our Brother Steve Campbell

All, Tomorrow is my last day of work and I wanted to say thanks to all of you for being my brothers and sisters in arms and on two wheels. You are what's good about this country. I am proud to have called myself a Freedom Rider and to serve in both the military and the community with folks like you.

Here are some parting thoughts. You may have seen them before, but I like them nonetheless.

My personal favorite quote first...
Watch your thoughts: They become your words.
Watch your words: They become your actions.
Watch your actions: They become your habits.
Watch your habits: They become your character.
Watch your character: It becomes your destiny.
~Frank Outlaw

Now some thoughts concerning iron horses...
- Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul.
- Bikes don't leak oil, they mark their territory.
- Remember folks, street lights timed for 35 mph are also timed for 70 mph.
~Jim Samuels

- People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs.
~Author Unknown

- Well-trained reflexes are quicker than luck.
- Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
- You start the game of life with a full pot o' luck and an empty pot o' experience... The object is to fill the pot of experience before you empty the pot of luck.
- Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.
- Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone.
- Never hesitate to ride past the last street light at the edge of town.
- Young riders pick a destination and go... Old riders pick a direction and go.
- A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
- It is good to have an end to journey towards; but it is the journey that matters in the end.

And finally, for cryin' out loud, Tinman! Put your visor down!!!

David Flower Highway Run 2009

SSgt Flowers was wounded in the line of duty while deployed to the AOR. He stepped on a landmine, losing his right leg below the knee. He is in good spirits, despite all that he has gone through. David is married and is going to be at Walter Reed for some time, a year or more. His wife is with him in DC.

BFR sponsored a Highway Run for David and his family and we raised close to $4,000. If you would like to view some pictures of the event click here.
